Rashan’s Journey with PFP

Director at Center for Civic Engagement and Activism (CEAC)

CEAC has been dedicated to protecting human rights, fostering an inclusive society, increasing civic participation of ethnic minorities in decision-making processes, and promoting Georgia's integration into Euro-Atlantic structures. His participation in the Professional Fellows Program (PFP) has significantly enhanced his professional journey and contributions to these causes.

As part of the PFP, Rashan Ziadaliev was placed in Denver, Colorado, where he interned at the National Civic League. The National Civic League, an esteemed American nonpartisan, non-profit organization founded in 1894 as the "National Municipal League" and renamed in 1937, is devoted to advancing civic engagement, democracy, and strong local government to create equitable, thriving communities. During his internship, Rashan focused on civic engagement, local government, and social issues. He gained invaluable insights into the functioning of local government in the USA and acquired skills in planning and implementing effective advocacy campaigns.

Upon returning to Georgia, Rashan Ziadaliev leveraged the theoretical knowledge and practical experience acquired at the National Civic League to initiate a new project aimed at identifying and advocating for the needs of ethnic minorities. This project, which won substantial support, will be implemented over seven months starting in August. The project focuses on increasing the civic involvement of ethnic minorities, activating them within their communities, and identifying and addressing their specific problems. Rashan believes that his participation in the PFP was instrumental in his ability to develop and secure funding for this impactful project.

His ongoing efforts at the Center for Civic Engagement and Activism (CEAC) continue to reflect his commitment to human rights, inclusive societies, and the civic participation of ethnic minorities in Georgia. The knowledge and skills he gained through the PFP are now being applied to enhance the civic landscape in Georgia, demonstrating the lasting impact of the program on his professional and personal development.
