Nino’s Journey with PFP
Child Protection Coordinator, An Advocacy and External Engagement focal point at World Vision International Georgia
Nino Danelia is an alumna of the PFP 2014. Currently, she is serving as a Child Protection Coordinator as well as an Advocacy and External Engagement focal point at World Vision International Georgia. During the PFP fellowship, Nino interned at the Chicago Children's Advocacy Center (CCAC) in Chicago, IL. It is the city's sole nonprofit organization coordinating child protection efforts, which unites professionals from various disciplines, including social work, law enforcement, family advocacy, and healthcare for addressing child sexual abuse, physical abuse, and supporting witnesses to violence.
Following the PFP program, Nino experienced career development. She successfully implemented an outbound project with her supervisor (executive director of CCAC) consisting of workshops, round tables, and public lectures on child abuse and protection. This accomplishment allowed her to apply the knowledge gained during the fellowship. Shortly after the program's conclusion, Nino transitioned to World Vision International in Georgia, where she served in different positions. PFP experience also supported Nino in actively participating in activities related to child abuse within the Organization Initiative for Social Changes, where she serves as a board member.
Nino considers becoming a PFP fellow an opportunity to gain rich professional experience, establish a diverse network, and immerse oneself in American culture. She believes fostering connections among participants from diverse backgrounds promotes mutual understanding and learning. The PFP program cultivates a strong network of professionals dedicated to international development by providing ongoing guidance and facilitating long-term career growth and collaboration among alums.
"I firmly believe that participating in the PFP program provided her with invaluable experiences and expanded her professional network. The relationships I cultivated during the fellowship, particularly with my supervisor, proved instrumental in conducting joint workshops."
