University Capacity Building Program

The University Capacity Building Program (UCBP), funded by the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi and administered by American Councils for International Education, is an initiative to foster an entrepreneurial culture at Georgia’s higher education institutions (HEIs), link practical research output to industry, and increase innovation and economic growth.

Project participants from Georgian (HEIs) will have the opportunity to learn about the U.S. model of technology assessment, technology transfer, tech commercialization, research commercialization and funding. The program will be implemented in three phased: (i) Webinar series (November-December, 2021) (ii)  Study Visit in the U.S. (February, 2022) and (iii) Reciprocal projects to bring US experts in Georgia to support follow-on research commercialization and university-industry relations (March-July, 2022).
