Mariam’s Journey with PFP

Program Manager at SABUKO - Society for Nature Conservation 

Throughout the tenure of the Professional Fellows Program, Mariam was actively engaged in her role at the Zilker Botanical Garden, a preeminent institution dedicated to both recreation and conservation in Austin, Texas. The botanical garden's principal missions encompass the preservation of indigenous flora, the dissemination of knowledge regarding the critical significance of biodiversity, encompassing the realm of plants, and the provision of leisure and recreational amenities for the citizens of Austin.

Following the successful completion of the program, Mariam received a promotion. Presently, she holds the esteemed position of Program Manager, spearheading diverse conservation endeavors. She actively engages in a multitude of projects centered around the preservation of biodiversity, the restoration of landscapes, and addressing the pressing issue of climate change.
